PSC: Superb weekend in Spain - Jörg Hardt finishes second

At the debut of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup on the new city circuit in Valencia the Team Schnabl Engineering experienced a superb race weekend. After a great performance of both drivers in the qualifying on Saturday, Jörg Hardt with a strong drive finished second in the race on Sunday. Darryl O'Young, who started from fifth position, had bad luck in the race and came in on rank 17.

Already the qualifying of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup on the new track in the harbour of Valencia brought a big surprise. Darryl O'Young, driving the Schnabl Engineering Porsche, qualified for fifth position in the starting grid for the race. "I am really happy", O'Young shone after the 45 minutes session. "It's the best result ever in my Supercup career. The track is great, but I think I can claim similar results on other circuits too. No I am looking forward to the Sunday and hope for a further improvement in the race as well as in future races."

However, the Schnabl Engineering Pilot from Hong Kong one day later had already bad luck in the initial phase of the 10th round of the Supercup. "The team did a fantastic Job over the whole weekend. Unfortunately I made a mistake in the opening lap. I miss-braked, spun around and could not get the car started again quickly enough. So I lost a lot of positions. Nevertheless, I am very happy with the result of the weekend. My car was really quick and I was able to do the same lap times like the drivers in the front. We made a great progress and I am really looking forward to the next race."

Unlike Darryl O'Young, Jörg Hardt, driving the second Porsche of the team Schnabl Engineering, experienced a superb weekend. The German managed to improve over the complete weekend and on Saturday qualified for 6th position in the starting grid. "A good result and a perfect team performance. However, I had some problems with the brake. I couldn't get enough braking power to the front axle of my car. Without that problem an even better result would have been possible", he reported after the qualifying session.

On Sunday all problems were gone and Jörg Hardt delivered a really strong performance with the Schnabl Engineering Porsche. Started from 6th position, the German had some hard fights and improved position by position. At the end Jörg Hardt crossed the start and finish line on second position. "Today I had one of the best setup cars in my career", the Schnabl Engineering pilot shone after the 14 laps. "It was a real fun to drive with the Porsche on this track. After I had some hard fights with other competitors I couldn't believe how perfect my car performed. I am really happy, a great thanks you to all the boys for a super job over the complete weekend", the German prays the Schnabl Engineering team.

"Finally we managed to have an almost perfect weekend", Sven Schnabl was happy after the race on Sunday. "Jörg delivered a really strong drive, with some great overtaking manoeuvres and claimed the best result for our team this season", the team manager praised the German and went on: "I am really satisfied with the performance of Darryl, too. After he had bad luck in the beginning, he managed to go as quick as the front runners. If he can repeat his great result of the qualifying in the next race too, he will be able to claim a similar result like Jörg."
