The 7th round of the Porsche Carrera Cup at the Nürburgring took a thoroughly pleasant course for the team Schnabl Engineering last weekend. While Jiri Janak with his Porsche GT3 once more could finish within the Top-10 of the 30 Cup-Pilots, Hannes Plesse finished the race on the track in the German Eifel region 14th, and with that claimed his first points in the Porsche Carrera Cup.

"Today I am not really satisfied", Jiria Janak draw a first balance on Saturday after the timed practice session for the 7th round of the Porsche Carrera Cup. "Although we made it into the second part of the qualifying, I didn't manage to put all three sectors together and with that I missed a reasonable quick lap", so the Czech, who had hoped for more than 15th Position in the starting grid for the race. "Nevertheless I fell confident for the race tomorrow, because in the previous session it all went fine for us and I am sure that we have worked out a good setup for the race distance."

However, on Sunday the 24-year-old had to fight with different problems. The Schnabl Engineering pilot already in morning complained about a heavy nausea and until just before the start it was questionable, whether Jiri Janak could take part in the race at all. The Czech decided in favour of a start and delivered an excellent race. He could improve his way forward up to the seventh position, but unfortunately lost again two ranks in the last lap, due to the strong pressure of his opponents behind him. Finally, and being completely exhausted, he saw the chequered flag on ninth position.

"At least I made it! I am really happy that I could claim my first points in the Porsche Carrera Cup", Hannes Plesse appeared relieved after the race on the 3,629 kilometres long short version of the Nürburgring. With a solid and fault-free performance the 24-year-old during the race could improve from grid position 26 up to the ranks for points and in the end crossed the line on 14th position. "But it was a difficult race, because today it was really hot in the car. After it didn't run well particularly in the qualifying on Saturday, I am really satisfied today. At the beginning it was tough, but than I could improve position by position. It was the first weekend without bad luck for me and I hope it stays this way for the rest of the season", Hannes Plesse felt confident with the outcome at the Nürburgring.

"I take my hat off about the achievement of Jiri Janak", Sven Schnabl says. "He was weakened extremely by the nausea and we really didn't know whether he could go over the complete distance of the race. After the 23 laps Jiri was really nailed and we had to take him to the hospital to Adenau. I am happy that he is on a good way to recover again", so the team manager of Schnabl Engineering. "Also Hannes Plesse has driven an excellent race today. I am very pleased that he could fetch his first points in the Carrera Cup. We have tried out another set-up at his car today which obviously has worked well for him."
