The veteran driver had won 30 times in the past years is to replace the injured young driver, Christopher Brueck. "Our junior driver injured himself and broke a rip during the six-hour go-kart race", Sven Schnabl, the team owner explained. " As Christopher is still not recover from his injury, the doctor will not give him a green light before Wednesday but we have to find a replacement, so I spoke to Roland". Roland who also owns an auto garage in Ammerbuch has actually retired from motor racing. Now he is looking after his 18 year old son Sebastian in the Ford Fiesta ST Cup and hopefully to lead him further. When contacted by Schnabl, he replied without hesitation and sound enthusiastic. "If I could help you I will do", has been the answer from Roland. "We also seal a deal with Stabila as our new partner" completed Schnabl. As for the team owner from Butzbach, he has a bigger task ahead, is to finish third in the team championship. In the final round, the third overall for team championship can be grabbed by any of these 4 teams, Schnabl Engineering, Mamerow Racing, Herberth Motorsport and Land Motorsport. Is great to see Roland is back in action although is a one-off race. He has always been the favourite and had many fans through out his career. He won from 1987 - 1989, 3 times in a row with the Porsche 944 Turbo Cup, Also, he won the championship in 1991 with 5 victories. In the eternal top list of the Carrera Cup he is second with 12 victories and 10 pole positions behind Wolfgang Land.
