big success

02-05-2005

The team crew of Schnabl Engineering has been doing a great job during the last race weekend despite the absent of team owner, Sven Schnabl, who had to travelled to the FIA GT event at Magny-Cours, France at the same time in order to prepare the two Vitaphone Maserati of Michael Bartels / Timo Scheider and Fabio Babini / Thomas Biagi.

The first free practice of Carrera Cup on Friday, we finished 9th. After a few laps the rear bumper started burning but managed to put off the fire quickly with the super-quick reaction of our crew. Luckily no big damage the car.

In the second free practice on Friday, we went quicker than in the morning and we had no problem with the car. The changed of set up was correct and we finished 8th overall, up one position from morning.

Saturday qualifying, Christopher has been holding on 2nd for quite sometime but drop to 5th in the end of the session, with 0.15 seconds behind the 2nd placing. Anyhow, this is a good start for us.

After an exciting race with hard but fair fights Christopher Brueck finished 5th behind Chr. Menzel, J.Hardt, R.Lietz and N.Armindo. The cologne based driver who just came back racing the Carrera Cup this year and at his second race in Lausitzring, he did convinced us the whole weekend. Even with his 5th placing where he fought hard trying to get into 3rd place, he is more than happy. "Surely more has been possible, but I did not want to risk too much. From free practice until the end of the race, everything has been perfect".
